Welcome to Globe, Arizona, a century-old silver mining town in the foothills of the Pinal Mountains. A huge nugget of silver resembling a globe had been found, and that’s how Globe got its name. Globe was founded in 1876, and is the seat of Gila County.

At an elevation of 3,500 feet, Globe offers much to see and experience, such as our historic downtown, copper mining, Native American culture on the San Carlos Apache Reservation, and abundant outdoor recreation throughout the Tonto National Forest.
